Jessica Huizenga, Ed.D

brunette womanJessica Huizenga, Ed.D has spent more than 25 years working in public education, moving from the classroom to district leadership. Over the course of her career, she has served as a teacher, department chair, assistant principal, principal, assistant superintendent, and superintendent in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire. She also made history as the first woman appointed by the Massachusetts Commissioner of Education to serve as a State Receiver, leading school and district turnaround efforts.

In addition to her work in public education, Jessica has held leadership roles in the nonprofit and corporate sectors. She was Managing Director at Latinos for Education and an Associate Partner at the Center for Model Schools, where she focused on school improvement, organizational change, and building partnerships to expand opportunities for students.

Today, Jessica is the Chief Program Officer at AESA. In this role, she helps guide the organization’s strategic direction, designs and supports national initiatives, and works with educational service agencies across the country to strengthen their impact. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her commitment to educational leadership, innovation, and collaboration.
