The FCC released the latest Universal Service Fund monitoring report, using information available as of September 2024. The section specific to E-Rate starts on page 54. Some key points:
- In Program Year 2023, 65,874 urban schools and 35,648 rural schools received E-Rate support. In the same year, 94,988 public schools, 6,534 private schools, and 11,971 public libraries received E-Rate support.
- As of June 30, 2024, E-Rate has disbursed more than $50 billion since the program’s inception. While California, Texas and New York have received the most from the fund, New Jersey has received over $1.2 billion, Indiana nearly $860 million, and Colorado a little more than $526 million.
